Engineering Assistant

SUMMARY: Organizes and performs a full range of administrative duties of a complex nature that requires a thorough understanding of departmental organization, functions, policies and procedures and establishes priorities for general office operations

WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to sit and work on a computer for extensive periods of time is required.  While performing the duties of the job the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, see, and hear. Administration is a typical office environment with a moderate noise level, however occasionally this position will require the employee to visit the manufacturing environment with a high noise level that will require hearing protection

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Prepares a variety of departmental material such as reports and documents that are often of a specialized/technical/confidential nature • May be required to extract information from different sources and require individual judgment in selecting methods of arrangement and suitable format for presentations • Performs administrative duties on behalf of supervisor • Compiles material and attends meetings • Designs, maintains office filing systems • Composes/prepares routine correspondence, forms, and reports • May perform a variety of assignments related to the administration of regularly recurring programs/projects • Responds independently to telephone and in-person inquiries • Ensures an efficient flow of departmental office and information services • Recommends/changes/enhances office routine and equipment • Performs a full range of secretarial duties as required • Organizes and updates engineering drawing file cabinet • Communicates continuously with Japan office • Creates kanban cards for maintenance spare parts • Updates maintenance records • Tracks monthly expense report • Tracks attendance for department • Processes order request • Receives quotes from vendors • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Excellent knowledge of office procedures • Communicate effectively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in Japanese and English • Translations from English to Japanese or Japanese to English during meetings or emails

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying • We prefer the following • Requires High School Diploma or GED • Associates in General Business preferred • Must have excellent computer skills • Must have exceptional problem solving abilities • Must be able to work independently • Must be detail oriented and organized

Die Maintenance Technician
SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to inspect and service machine tools and dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects by touch or visually by using appropriate instruments
WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of the job the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, see, hear, and able to lift up to 33 pounds. Work is indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Setting is production driven and manufacturing plant/light industrial. • Detail and process orientation
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Cut, shape, and trim blank or block to specified length or shape, using power saws, power shears, and hand tools •  Design tools, jigs, fixtures, and templates for use as work aids •  Lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plate or worktable, using hoist, vises, v-blocks, or angle plates • Measure, mark, scribe metal or plastic stock to lay out machining, using instruments, such as protractors, micrometers, scribes, and rulers •  Operate power press to test completed dies and applies pigment to die to indicate high spots which require reworking • Repair or modify tools and dies, using machine tools and hand tools • Set up and operate machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, sharpers, and grinders to machine parts • Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools, using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, emery cloth, or power grinder • Study blueprints or specifications and visualizes shape of die, part, or tool •  Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators •  Other duties and projects as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Must be able to read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals • Detail and process orientation • Ability to use independent judgment in the exercise of daily responsibilities • Work effectively under deadlines; maintain detailed and accurate records • Able to deal effectively with changing conditions • Ability to think in the abstract and see how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes • Communicate effectively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work • Team work is extremely important in this line of work • Must be able to work on many different projects at one time 
​MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying • We prefer the following • High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of four years related experience preferred • Valid state driver’s license • Familiarity with 5S activity
 

Maintenance Technician
SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to support manufacturing equipment and general plant upkeep tasks.  This individual also assists in machine moves and rebuilds.  This position will also be required to move electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic lines associated with machine moves or building improvement

Setting is production driven and manufacturing plant/light industrial. • Detail and process orientation
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Able to maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC driven machinery • Maintains operating condition of buildings and equipment and completed repairs • Utilizes knowledge of fundamental mechanical, electrical, and welding skills in performing assignments • Must be able to read and interpret electric schematics • Must be able to read and interpret PLC ladder logic • Must be able to function effectively in an extremely fast-paced environment • Emphasizes the need to deliver quality products; defines standards for quality and evaluates products & processes against those standards; creates an environment that supports continuous improvement • Speaks and writes clearly and effectively even when relating complex information; promotes a free flow of information through the organization; listens actively • Actively pursues growth and developmental opportunities; seeks out feedback and responds without defensiveness; continuously finds ways to improve • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations • Other duties as assigned  
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to use independent judgment in the exercise of daily responsibilities • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs • Able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form • Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations • Work effectively under deadlines; maintain detailed and accurate records
​MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying • We prefer the following • High school diploma or equivalent • AA degree in Electro Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Welding is preferred but not required • Familiarity with 5S activity
